LOL at this Wired article!
Thinking about launching your own blog? Here’s some friendly advice: Don’t. And if you’ve already got one, pull the plug.
I agree with the author. Blogging is so 2004. For the record: I installed WordPress on this server in September 2004. Time to pull the plug.
Follow me on Twitter, Facebook and Flickr instead.
(BTW I’m still the top entry at Google for Boring Flower Snapshot)
😉
It’s more than sad. I’m tempted to call it double standard, but then again, maybe they just had some brilliant epiphanies. 😉
You know what’s interesting? It took PR and big media YEARS to jump on the blogging bandwagon, and the web2.0 bandwagon in general. But now that they’ve started, they’re taking over everything – Twitter being just one example of many. Sad, isn’t it?
unTinyURLd links are so 1994. 😉
But back on topic.
What is so very mind blowing is how all those big media that unashamedly dissed blogs as legitimate media and resources now cling to blogging like there’s no tomorrow.
My own blog posts get recycled by such reknown publishers as Routledge. Why? Because their opinion of “blogging” seems to consist in pulling related 3rd-party blog content via Technorati (based on tags, that is, and then they just pull the respective posts via RSS).
Now, if that’s blogging, then I’d rather move back to BBS.
Your blog, it doesn’t matter if anyone reads it 🙂
