{"id":7711,"date":"2020-08-23T23:10:00","date_gmt":"2020-08-23T21:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chiperoni.ch\/wordpress\/?p=7711"},"modified":"2020-08-23T11:22:44","modified_gmt":"2020-08-23T09:22:44","slug":"social-objects-and-how-they-help-me-to-connect","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chiperoni.ch\/wordpress\/2020\/08\/social-objects-and-how-they-help-me-to-connect\/","title":{"rendered":"Social Objects and how they help me to connect"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In a recent offline conversation, I dropped a comment: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>That&#8217;s my common social object with so-and-so.<\/em><br \/><\/p><cite>Me in an informal conversation<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>I realized how much <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gapingvoid.com\/blog\/2007\/12\/31\/social-objects-for-beginners\/\">this old blog post<\/a> from the beginnings of blogging has influenced me. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My observation: If I find a common <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Social_objects\">social object<\/a>, it helps me re-connect. If I find a common topic, sport, technology, political view, geographic place, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/chiperoni\/\">hobby<\/a>, shared past experiences, the depth of interactions changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sounds obvious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As 2020 has changed many social interactions, routines, and aspects. I am curious to see what will return and in which way.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2020 is a catalyst for changes that started happening already.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-flickr wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2jvCS5w\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/50218485246_7c05da42a1_z.jpg\" alt=\"inner courtyard\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" \/><\/a>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I am curious how work will evolve. Language change is an indicator of societal change. I attended a meeting on Friday where one participant said to another:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>I Slack-ed you.<\/p><cite>ironically on a Teams call<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The tools may change.
