It&#8217;s got a lot of cultural events, museums, cinemas for a city of this size. It&#8217;s well-connected, has a great public transport system, just the right size, etc.<\/p>\n<p><em>Swiss counterpart<\/em>: Basel doesn&#8217;t have a lake.<\/p>\n<p>I heard the same comment several times. Until it occurred to me.<br \/>\nMany Swiss cities are located near a lake. Z\u00fcrich, Geneva, Lausanne, Luzern, Lugano, Locarno.
