I went photo-walking today
I hope you like some of the snaps I took today:
Michiru
The outline of Michiru mountain in Blantyre. The Wikipedia page for Michiru mountain needs some more info. What is the altitude in meters? 1470m? Lonely Planet reference Malawi Travel Guide
Winter cycling
Apparently 80% of all Copenhageners cycle in winter. There’s a Tumblr site called Viking Biking which shows photos of people cycling in snow. No snow in Basel. I don’t cycle in icy road conditions. But apart from that, I also cycle in winter.
Best snapshot of 2014?
It’s December 2014 and I’m still taking snapshots. Last year I selected 1 photo for each month. I will try the same for 2014. Here we go. January 2014 February 2014 March 2014 April 2014 May 2014 June 2014 July 2014 August 2014 September 2014 October 2014 November 2014 December 2014 Most productive month was… Continue reading Best snapshot of 2014?

Jog log: Early bird
Achievement of the week. I managed to go running twice this week – in the morning before work. It’s cold and dark. Getting outside and getting started is the challenge. Running is fun. And overcoming my inner pig dog (only Germans have this) is even better.
Autumn storm
The first autumn storm has made it to Basel. Strong wind. Cold air. Rain. A great opportunity to post old Flickr photos related to autumn.
Handheld snapshot of Wettstein Bridge
I quite like this snapshot of Wettstein Bridge.
Four Flickr faves for a Chiperoni.ch snapshot
I took this snapshot on Friday evening on my way home from work: Since then it’s received four Flickr faves. Hope you like it.
HTML5 link re-surfaces
It’s fun when a fave re-surfaces an old tweet of yours about an HTML5 template. "HTML5 template" http://t.co/9PBAnooJUH — âœ___CollectThisTweet (@nchenga) July 27, 2013 HTML5 projects: I’m currently working on building a small website based on a template by HTML5 Up. Progress is somewhat slow. Before I tried Aerial. And Parallelism. HTML5Bones looks useful.
Guide to setting up Twitter cards
Buffer published this article on setting up Twitter cards. I started experimenting with Twitter cards a couple of weeks ago. Via Leumund, I learnt that you can use Twitter cards for lead generation.
Patterns
Some HTML5 fun
Mixing one of my Freiburg photos with some HTML and CSS: http://chiperoni.ch/aerial/index.html Looks best on a 13″ or smaller. On larger screens, the photo doesn’t fill the whole space. The original is here: http://html5up.net/aerial
Lost
I got very lost in the Küttigen-Rombach-Aarau area yesterday. Google Maps sent me to the wrong place. I missed the event. It was raining. I gave up. And walked back to Aarau. I found a nice place to recover called Tuchlaube. Next time I’ll try Gossip: On my way back to the station I found… Continue reading Lost
Jog log: This hill in my backyard
I went for a slow run up the hill today. Two kilometres on the sawdust track and then further up the hill, all the way to the top. I don’t have any metrics to share because I haven’t jumped on the “quantified self” bandwagon. Yet. My guess: more than 1 and a half hours and… Continue reading Jog log: This hill in my backyard

Snapshot of the day:
Collecting boring flower snapshots
I’ve added some new flower snapshots to this set.
Architecture snapshots of Lucerne train station
Some snapshots taken at the Lucerne train station. Santiago Calatrava designed the entrance hall of the Lucerne train station.
Running plans
Last Friday I ran 6.5 km at the annual Firmenlauf. Quite a party with over 3700 participants. Took 6 minutes before I crossed the starting line ‘cos of the huge crowd of runners and walkers. Wow. Quite impressive. I ran slowly and steadily from start to finish. Proud to say I didn’t stop running even… Continue reading Running plans
Boring is the new black
There’s a phrase with “Langeweile” (= boredom) on Dreirosen bridge. I chose to ignore the phrase and captured the word on its own. Some more snapshots:

A Sunday in April
Weather was better than forecast. It’s been fairly dry. So today’s rain was a welcome change. But despite dark clouds and rain symbols on the Swiss Meteo app, the rain was over by lunch. Time for a bike ride. WOD: I cycled to Rheinfelden at a leisurely pace. Grenzach-Wyhlen – Herten – Rheinfelden – Kaiseraugst… Continue reading A Sunday in April
