Rhetorical question of the day …

What would computing be without progress bars?

I spent this weekend re-configuring my Ubuntu installation. It’s been about 6 months since I moved from Windows and I’m more than happy with Ubuntu and the Gnome desktop. I may try out Kubuntu sometime. Or try setting up an Ubuntu server.

I’m still a newbie user but I’m slowly getting the hang of things as I go along.

    did your caffettiera also explode?
did I tell you that mine did? Creating a huge mess in the kitchen minutes before I had to go to work.

we’d probably have some geeky workaround to estimate the progress…like measuring it in bialetti units* or so [the instruments for which, on their own, would present a slight risk for inaccuracy, given their tendency to explode at times, but hey, what’s life without risks]….
